Realistically Unova seems to be the best place to start

I'll go with Tepig, he's cool, pretty strong in this region and has a mega stone for when we travel to Kalos
My goal will be to start an undercover criminal syndicate, starting by beating trainers to amass money to establish a legal business where I can then hire people and start gaining power, the goal is to inevitably find alike people and eventually move onto Alola where a company like mine could over time take over their culture, the capture of the Tapus would be the first step, and next it would be taking over Aether forcefully to attain their Ultra Wormhole technology

I would probably choose Sinnoh since it holds a couple of my favorite Pokémon and Gym leaders. I would mostly focus on traveling the world, discovering new places, meeting people and Pokemon and battling with them. While i wouldn't aim to become the very best, i still would participate in the League Challenge and finally, once i've settled down, i would become a Gym Leader. Basically, my Pokémon life would be enjoying the wonders of being alive in the Pokémon world

That said, for a starter, I probably wouldn't be lucky enough to be Elm's neighbor, so I'd have to pick up a local encounter. Probably Sentret or Hoothoot. Maybe a Pineco.

Unironically to meet one of the arms of god (arceus) just to say I did. I don't even want to catch it (unless it's like PLA and it wants to be caught to travel or whatever), I just want to say I met god.

Of course we're assuming this is some "reborn as a kid in the pokemon world" shit and not "Transposed into the pokemon world" shit, if the latter I just fukin' off myself asap.

Start in Hoenn, with Torchic. I’d like to travel the world to challenge all the different regional leagues, and then settle down in Fula City (which is presumably in Unova) with my wife.

Fula City is a mix of Los Angeles and San Francisco, so I guess it's in Pokemon World California

Born in Unova so I can get my favorite pokemon, Deerling, as a starter since it's also very common there. Maybe growing up in Driftveil and doing some side research at the weather lab. While doing the equivalent of college, I'll miraculously get the chance to intern overseas at the Aether Paradise. Despite the dubious ethics, the grunts seem to have a fairly nice and consistent workplace environment. Even as evil as Lusamine is (for a while at least), I don't think she treats her employees too too horribly. That line of employment will have some battling, but I won't need to be a try hard trainer if I don't want to. Maybe I'll even get to witness an Ultra Beast.
