Well, those are fine. People only complained about Gen 7 mega dex entries because they explicitly referred to how the process of mega evolution was harming the pokemon itself. No one cares about what happens to the humans.

Doesn't Victreebel eat by ingesting the juices of its dissolved prey? That's what pitcher plants do IRL. If anything, the enhanced efficacy of the acid would just accelerate the process.

Because in Gen 6 they told you Megas were the ultimate culmination of the bond and friendship between Pokemon and trainer.
Then in the generation where they abandoned megas, they told you actually, megas hurt your Pokemon and turned them into deranged bloodthirsty killers.

When it's inside the body, the problem is that if the prey is dissolved outside of Victreebel's body Victreebel doesn't get any benefit from that, so sealing its mouth is for its own good as well so it doesn't accidentally dissolve its prey before eating it. once it eats something then yes the accelerated melting helps it.
