Give it up for day 4 of the spinarak hunt. About 4-5 hours a day, I think I just hit the 20 hour mark.

I’ve found shiny weedles, Patrats, ghosts and swords. No spin. I even said I’d be happy with an ekans but nope.


Beginning to lose sanity - I had a run of about 3 shinies in an hour and nothing since, so I assume my luck has dried up. Still we reset.

I've been running back and forth for this Ralts for a while now, are there any other spawns in the area I should be checking? I think the roofs are tall enough that it doesn't affect anything but there's some Buneary on the other side of the wall in a different courtyard

For Ralts I've been doing this method where I run from one end of the red line to the other to reload both of them, go back to check, and repeat.

however i am inclined to believe that rooftop spawns work different when you reset on the ground based on my observations at Restaurant Le Nah where the Fletchlings would only fade in when i walked up some stairs away from Le Nah (not the ladder) even if i was within 50m and should have been able to see them otherwise.

Technically the spawn is within 50m, but since it's obscured by the roof there's no way to see it to know if it actually spawned or not. My testing with other locations is that for a rooftop spawn to load in you need to be within 50m but also close enough on the vertical axis, so my observation leads me to believe that indeed, no, the Dratini won't spawn by flying to Cafe Soleil. Assuming someone else out there hasn't already proved/disproved this, since there are a few Budew on that same rooftop within range if I happen to get one of them to be shiny while trying for Staryu I'll update back since that should mean that rooftop spawns don't need to load in visually for the check to occur.

This game's probably one of the most relaxing to shiny hunt in, due to the game storing your shinys once they spawn.

Day 4 of shiny hunting Carvanah. So far I’ve caught 2 shiny pidgey and 2 shiny slowpoke. Anyone else doing the same hunt? I can spam fly to the wild zone, or I can sit at a bench in the back near the Alpha Sharpedo. Does anyone have any suggestions as to which is better? From the entrance to WZ10 there is 3 carvanah in the water, and in the back by the bench there’s 2 plus the sharpedo. From the bench the carvanah at the entrance are 53m away, and from the entrance the 2 carvan with sharpedo are like 80m out. Can either the fly technique or bench reroll both sets of carvanah? Does this post even make sense? I’m losing my mind

I used Zone 16, I didn't want to find any shinies besides the ones I was going for, and the only ones that spawn from 16 are the 4 Falinks and Froakie. I'm on switch 1 so it's kind of hard to say how long it took, but I got my shiny charm 36 hours ago and I took some breaks here and there like doing Zone 20 alphas for fun. I was getting like 35-40 fights in each night after getting used to it. My mons were level 100 by the time I had gotten to 20 reward battles, so it went by pretty quick. Just running from one trainer to the next and oneshotting them with my Excadrill. After clearing out the ground level of one battle zone I moved to the next, the rooftops take too much time.

For anyone wanting to fill their pkdex quicker, I found that offering shit shinies people will automatically give you stuff you are missing, pretty neat
