probably eldegoss or alcremie
>>How would you make traps less frustrating?
a more subtle indication of where they could be at would probably make them less frustrating. pmdo has it to where traps are technically seen but a more subtle thing, like a specific part of the tileset to where it isn't so blatantly obvious might make it more tolerable than having them jumpscare you.
>>If you could have one item from PMD in real life, which would you choose and why?

Maybe it is just me being used to the level of BS from roguelikes, but I've never felt like traps were that big of a deal.

>How would you make traps less frustrating?
Just reduce their usage. Traps are at their best when they're actually surprising. They shouldn't feel like HP or PP taxes, they feel like unexpected events that you have to adapt to
>>58547973
A lot of people get upset because it is RNG thing that cannot be predicted. That is the nature of traps, though. If you could see the trap coming, it wouldn't be a good trap

>>What newer gen Pokemon could you see working as a shop NPC?
Not a fan of the mon but if they still had chest opening NPC's, Gimmighoul seems like an obvious pick.
>>Are there any types that get shafted more than others in PMD's gameplay?
RT electric and fighting types have it pretty bad, but I'd say electric's got it the worst here. This is before Discharge existed, so the best they have is Tbolt, but even then almost no electric types have any kind of coverage.
Even in Sky, Thundershock is for some reason one of the weakest attacks in the game with a base power of 1. For context, something like Water Gun is I think 4 base power.
>>How would you make traps less frustrating?
Remove PP Zero traps. It's far too punishing for something you basically can't play around outside attacking every tile you step on. Apple Traps are also heavily punishing and if the wrong item gets hit, you might as well just reset.
>>If you could have one item from PMD in real life, which would you choose and why?
It's gotta be Mobile Scarf. You could just walk through walls and over water like it was nothing.

attention this is blogposting of the faggoty kind!

This october challenge was fun but it also led me to rethink on what i did has a creative for the guild in 2 years.

i am considering a soft reboot but i also want to hear people's opinion on it here so i may adjust my scope to not fall in the same situation i am right now, dragging on because i no longer feel the spark.

I suppose it's fortunate that your Inn is so separate from the rest of the guild- you could restart without harming many other stories.
I have enjoyed your comic but if it's not giving you the spark, it might be worth putting down. It wasn't ever, like, extremely good. The art was what carried it for me. It introduced a ton of characters I couldn't possibly care about, and didn't really feel like it had stakes in the grand scheme.
Jung as a character I like a lot, though. If you still like sceptile, I feel like there's potential to keep him, even if solo. The coolest part of clover imo is drawing from a pool of community made characters for stories and art, so making just one or two characters and then mingling them with the guild might be more interesting than the lax inn. Maybe that's not relevant to the soft reboot you proposed, but it's I think worth considering.
Whatever you decide to do, I hope it fulfils you.

that's was indeed what made me rethink it, i boasted a lot of character in the get go without proper idea what to do with them and makin interaction that could be explored in collaboration with other guild members.
I've started all this in a very bombastic over the top way with shit ton of character but not many ideas what to do with it.

>falling for the shonen trap of introducing too many characters to juggle
But yeah if you no longer feel the spark to continue then there is not much point in pressing on with it
If you decide on a soft-reboot rather than a full one I think just keeping Jung, Sara and maybe Mama Lax would be enough

And congratulations on completing the October challenge! Lots of good stuff there

>In the Rescue Team, Explorers and Adventure Squad series, Substitute targets the Pokémon in front of them, ally or enemy, and inflicts the Decoy status condition on them. The Pokémon with this status will be preferentially attacked by allies and enemies. The status lasts for 21-50 turns. This move is affected by Snatch.
I can't be too mad I guess, but this is a hell of a reinterpretation of the move.

The threat itself doesn't have to be a person like the comet from RT, but the bosses should be proper characters (pokemon or human), otherwise it feels like a disconnect from its own world, or like a fanfic.

Is there a way with IQ or tactics to stop party mons from spamming boost moves in RBRT?
I have my guys on "Go After Foes", but half the time they just spam boosts or agility.
I don't really mind the latter's effect, but the animation and shit takes a long time and it's annoying

Anonymous No.58565264 [Report] >>58565364

As far as I know, not really unfortunately, they have a bad tendency to spam buffs like that. Your best bet is pretty much to just set/unset their moves when needed, which is tedious, but there's not much else to be done. I think setting their AI to "Let's go together" or whatever it's called in RT, might have them spam buffs slightly less, although i never use any of the other AI types so i wouldn't know.

I've been keeping them aggro because it helps during escort missions, but that's been annoying me a bit in its own right

Is there a recommended order for those playing for the plot? Didn't see anything in the FAQ.

Is it just:

Red + Blue -> Explorers of Sky -> Gates to Infinity -> Super? Or does one play DX instead? Are some of these bad?

I created Moonlit Thicket for a story that I tried writing two years ago. I wasn't satisfied with the outcome of the story, so I never published it.
As far as I know, nobody else has used the dungeon yet. But Petal-Purr was thinking about using it, and I may revisit my story idea at some point.
As long as you don't do anything too crazy with your portrayal of the dungeon, like burning the place down or something like that, I don't think it'll interfere with anyone's plans. But if you want more feedback, feel free to put your ideas in spoilers here or talk about it in the magma drawboard chat.

Plot-wise Rescue and DX are the exact same which is disappointing, so just pick whatever.

As for the order, playing in release order is fine and my only recommendation is to leave Super for last. Not because of its bad story quality, but because it has a lot of little easter eggs in the form of NPCs from the same species as a character from the previous games making a small reference to them.
Sky is generally considered to have the best story, so I guess you could give that one a try first to see if the series click with you.

Depends on the art style - it's good for more cartoony/animesque works as a tertiary sexual characteristic, especially for species that don't otherwise have dimorphism.

How are bounty hunters expected to restrain criminals and bring them all the way back to the authorities? Seems like it'd be difficult to do in some cases, especially if the crook is a powerful or large species of Pokemon, or if they're in a dungeon that's far away from town.
Are there items that can be used to reliably restrain Pokemon and make them unable to break free, no matter what moves and abilities they have? Would it make more sense to have an item that summons the cops to your location so the crook can be arrested on the spot after they've been defeated?
As far as I know, the games always gloss over it, and just cut from you defeating the target to you being back in town and talking with the cops while they have the crook in custody.

I just learned there was a third promotional video for GTI in addition to the anime shorts with Oshawott and Pikachu. It seems like it was Japan-exclusive.
I can't find much info about it. This tumblr apparently has some clips from it, and this wiki page has a youtube archive link, but the video doesn't load.
Does anyone know more about it, or know if the full video has been uploaded and preserved anywhere?

If you restrained them to begin with you already beat the shit out of them, you just continue to do so until you lug them cross country and hand them over to the useless cops.

Now the crook has the same item that summons more crooks to their location when you show up.

Yes. I like it as well. Not every single work should do it but I don't have a complaint when they are put on mons that might be struggling to showcase femininity. I hate it when some try to subvert it by (also) putting it on males though, those can piss off.
