Sadly its made by Digital Eclipse who made Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection and Samurai Shodown NeoGeo Collection, which were below average compendiums with tons of issues.

Honestly pretty much all their collection since Atari 50 have been pretty spectacular

Even Tetris Forever being gimped by not being able to license the NES/Game Boy games still has cool features like the OG Tetris game emulated, so i'm confident this'll be good too.

personally, i would wait for this to be completed. this is not just another MKP mugen copypaste. the devs really want to make this look like an actual official MK game. even bigger than MK2Remix. and that game was already a pretty good replacement for any home version of MK2.

thats the only think i consider weird about this remake, and evem weirder that the dev is putting his foot down like that.

the idea is that Liu Kang, as a monk, is supposed to be a pacifist. and technically in MK1 his fatality (the uppercut) doesnt really look like a move that could kill someone. specially someone as tough as the characters are supposed to be. he is trying to take that to its logical extreme by remaking his fatalities as non-lethal finishing moves.
