Blogposting to a minimum here:
>Used to game all the time
>Reached a point where new game trailers stopped exciting me
>Buy games, never complete them, have only been playing one gacha game and rarely replay old games for years
Realizing new games seem boring so I wanna go back and play stuff I've missed out on. For reference was a Nintenchad growing up so anything SEGA or Playstation I basically haven't played.
Any suggestions? Any genre so don't worry
Already have tried peering into the Dreamcast library and SNES and PS2 but barely

Basically graduated college and stopped caring about gaming and I kinda miss it

What are you in the mood for? Namely era I mean. I've been rather bullish on 8-bit stuff (old and new recently) and my cup runeth over. I find the simple challenge of the 8-bit stuff supremely enjoyable. So my recommendations (stuff I've been playing recently):
Game Boy/Colour: Metroid 2, Wario Land 2, Pokemon Prism (a rom hack, pretty decent one too)
Master System: Golvellius the Valley of Doom, Miracle Warriors, Golden Axe Warrior, Lord of the Sword, Phantasy Star
NES: Faxanadu, Alwas Awakening (not retro)
And the bonus non retro items: UFO 50, Darxanadon, Princess Remedy in a Heap of Trouble (ZX Speccy looking game).

I also played a tonne of Mega Drive, and Playstation stuff as a kid, if you've not played the classics on those they're worth exploring (Sonics, Streets of Rage, etc Crashes, Abe's Odyssey) though my personal favourite MD game is Gain Ground, very comfy 'strategy' game

You could check out Falcom's games. Particularly YS, but I played Xanadu Next and enjoyed it a lot.

If you liked the NES growing up, you'll probably enjoy the Mega Drive as it feels pretty close in terms of design philosophy.

I'd recommend these, my 20 favorites:
>Aladdin
>Arch Rivals
>Ariel: The Little Mermaid
>Castle of Illusion starring Mickey Mouse
>QuackShot starring Donald Duck
>Pinocchio
>Pocahontas
>Road Rash 2
>Sonic the Hedgehog
>Sonic the Hedgehog 2
>Sonic the Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles
>Sonic 3D Blast
>Spider-Man vs. The Kingpin
>Spider-Man & Venom in Maximum Carnage
>Streets of Rage
>Streets of Rage 2
>The Lion King
>The Terminator
>Venom & Spider-Man in Separation Anxiety
>World of Illusion starring Mickey Mouse & Donald Duck

Yup! I'd argue the Illusion titles, so Castle of Illusion, QuackShot and World of Illusion are the best, since they're made by SEGA.

SEGA in the 90's was at their peak, and these titles are it.

Try Spyro the Dragon and see how you like it vs SM64.

Try Crash Bandicoot and see how you like it vs DKC.

If you like either, keep going along with their respective series.

Oh yeah, and try Crash Team Racing and see how you like it vs Mario Kart 64.
