I have a Game Boy Color. The screen is barely visible even with strong direct light and colors are very dim. Anons... despite having some handhelds, I always end up playing on my phone. I mean, I always carry it with me, with or without a controller it's always ready to let me make progress in one game or another. The thing with handhelds is that sometimes I forget to bring them, or not all of them have such easy save syncing, etc. There's definitely something I'm not quite grasping about these things, I understand the benefits on paper but they do not translate to my daily life.

IIRC the RP5 and RP4 Pro aren't that far apart in regards to raw power, but the RP5 is bound to have better drivers due to using the Snapdragon chipset. There's more reasons why the RP5 is liked though, like the larger 5.5" OLED panel and apparent Linux support via ROCKNIX.

Tried out the 6-button Retroid Classic but honestly, not really feeling it. The CPU power is nice (can power through Mednafen Saturn) and the screen looks great, but it just doesn't feel comfortable to use? Like I tried out Mega Man Xtreme 2 and I feel like struggling to play, wherever I can blast through it easily on my RG353V. It's also quite bigger than I imagined.

I personally never found a controller/phone setup that I really loved. RG 406H owner here (posting from it). It's pretty awesome. Played played through Weapon Master Mode in SC2 and unlocked all Smash Melee content. Also regularly play fun sports games like NHL Hitz 2K3, NFL Blitz and NBA Jam. I also had fun clearing Kirby's Dreamland 2 with SGB color rom back as well as Zelda ALttP. Streaming with Apollo/Artemis works well for platforms it doesn't support best natively. The lag is barely noticable.

Only thing I've yet to test is the HDMI option. Otherwise I would say it's worth. Also the new AI update is fun little thing even if the translation part is abit off.
