No, I never understood this nerd rage that was more common in the 00's. And still is common, /vr/ is relatively more calm than /v/
Fired, never hired again, maybe. But sometimes a game is shit because the creators were not given the time and resources they actually needed, so the suits higher up deserve more of the hate

The Amazing Spider-Man 3: Invasion of the Spider-Slayers (Game Boy)
I love playing The Amazing Spider-Man and even The Amazing Spider-Man 2, a couple of subpar titles most people dislike, and I don't blame them... but for me, the 1st title is everything people wanted from a Spider-Man title then, a simple sidescrolling beat 'em up with a few special powers, the 2nd tried t change things up being a pseudo Metroid, though much smaller and shorter, using Spider-Man's powers more, I personally enjoy it, but know why many don't... the 3rd installment though? It's like they genuinely tried to mix the worst elements of both titles before it to make the worst Spider-Man title ever, and they did.

Yea, goblet of fire on Xbox. After playing the first 2 games on different systems and loving them, I was disgusted by how linear and basic the game was. Totally phoned it in when they had gold to work with.

Super Pitfall on NES.
I liked Pitfall and Pitfall 2, and I really wanted to enjoy this game, but the poor design of the game makes it entirely un-fun to play. Outright miserable. Every single aspect of the game is not fun. Movement is horrible and janky. Moving up and down ladders is horrible and janky. Invisible teleporters all over the fucking place, and you need them in order to progress forward.
Experiment: Load up Super Pitfall in an emulator, and turn on invincibility and infinite ammo cheats. Get yourself maps of the game. Unable to die and with all the ammo you could ever want, and knowing exactly where you need to go, see how far you can get before you don't want to play this godawful game anymore. And remember, it would be much worse without the cheats.
