Majora's mask whole plot is stolen from meteor in ffvii. Majora's mask is like resident evil backtracking mixed with ffvii meteor plot. Not that I hate MM, I just find it weird nobody ever talks about this.

No, that's seems highly unlikely. Considering that the Simpsons isn't as popular in japan. It's also not the same plot points. In ffvii the comet is summoned by the ancients, similar to how in Majora's mask the moon is summoned by Majora's mask. In barts comet, it's just a comet that's in a trajectory to earth, it's more so a play on how there is sometimes hysteria about a comet hitting earth and how it has in the past and is inevitable in the future. There is no force controlling the comet like in ffvii or Majora's mask.
