Posting in a gen-z thread. No one pretends it's a masterpiece, it has glaring flaws. It's simply an enjoyable game because it takes survival horror to its logical conclusion. If you don't like this game, you don't like survival horror, simple as.

I have read this is the game people mostly want remake from the company after resident evils according to polls. And it actually might benefit from it because it's not a masterpiece but it had some cool stuff.

But it might be the concept is not as cool as zombies. Zombies used to be people so it's more unsettling and anyone can turn into a zombie, but dinos are just a different species to begin with.

It is a masterpiece. I honestly prefer it over DC2 as I prefer the survival-horror aspect and trying to conserve ammo and what not. The mixing system was kinda fun too and making darts helps save ammo.
Fuck, I'm gonna emulate it now. It's been too long.

It was Resident Evil with dinosaurs. Which were very popular at the time thanks to Jurassic Park. I remember it a lot less than the RE games but I still remember it being an enjoyable game that had its own kino. Just haven't played it since its release. The concept of the game is a very good one. Don't know if its a masterpiece but its definitely not a bad game either nobody ever called it bad. Its always been seen as at least good.

Just lighten up and appreciate it for what it is. I always assume guys who post threads like this are primarily baiting or they are zoomers that can't seem to enjoy anything before their game playing years.

If you browse /vr/ for at least a year you'll recognize some schizos that are mulling a titanic battle inside their own minds since 1994, and when they finally defeat their imaginary opponents, they come here to vomit the results. Last month we had a guy who shat the board up with "here's how the Sega Saturn would have won" threads (which invited even more schizos). Those people are 40-somethings that are still stuck in the time of the console wars. Their breed slowly died when internet forums dwindled, but they found a new haven here on 4chan because you don't need an account to post.

This kind of thing is pretty common on /vr/, sadly. I just don't bother to reply anymore. Go fight your demons inside your own head.

Even that isn't quite right, because RE is mostly crawling room to room trying to route out enemy avoidance or expending limited resources, and puzzles are more of a thing that happens every so often briefly to broaden up the pacing. Dino Crisis is way more puzzle-driven, entire chunks of the game are stuck doing puzzles, and the survival horror elements take a backseat for much longer periods of time as a result.

Then DC2 may as well be a preliminary shooter action game to what RE4 and later titles would do with The Mercenaries.
