If I could get myself to join the server I'd do some hillside building (quay wall along the waterline with flat rides and buildings carved into the hill, tracked ride over top of it all) and thus create non-empty paths from the boat hire down the peninsula across to southern mainland and north to the other side of the mountain. No path over the mountain - it's for rides to go over and through.
