I also do, it was the most radiant, optimist console ever

It's hard to believe for zoomies, but after Sega's demise many still wanted a DC. It had so many excellent games you knew you'd get a lot of play-time with it (and also was cheap af, 99 bucks for the console and I believe 10 each game)

Last year I hooked it up and played EGG, Napple Tale and Lack of Love. Had a few juntadas with friends and Power Stone 4P was still a blast

no, it's more that there's a crossover between wrestling fans and gamers, and the simple fact that a lot of wrestlers these days grew up with video games and even anime.
Cody Rhodes favorite games are insanely normie coded, like no shit a13 year old in 1998 thought OoT and MGS were the coolest shit ever

They became known as Impact Wrestling for awhile. They reverted "TNA" last year.

Nowadays they're like a support promotion for NXT. WWE is probably going to acquire them in the next few years. Wouldn't surprise me (especially if it means getting their hands on the TNA tape library).

I mean they're good, are they not? You'd have to better define when someone is just saying those were great because of a small pool of reference and people who say they're great because they're legitimately captivated by what they offer.

Cody as a video game fan has generally been corroborated so you'd need more than just "well EVERYONE his age who ever held a controller would love those games". I'm his age and I can attest at the time those games were big at the time but it's not like it was meritless - OoT in particular.

It's not like he threw Symphony of the Night or Final Fantasy VII on there, which are two other games that appear on virtually every 90s kid's list.

AEW has a really fast paced more acrobatic style which I really enjoy. Some of the maneuvers and stuff they do is just wild to me but I totally get not being into it. The n64 wrestling games actually got me into it heavily. I just started watching again recently and it’s pretty fun. It’s heavy choreographed but I get it’s not for everyone: https://youtu.be/fngRbCYAISk?si=FNaS4Oj7V3NjtOY-

Exactly this, video games and anime stopped being niche nerd hobbies nearly two decades ago

The punishment for software piracy in Japan is also very severe, and both the courts and prison systems make the US look lenient in comparison. I doubt she would want to risk it, and especially not publicly admit to doing it.

When they say this they're worried about the public perception, not fighting your "hardware vs emu" war for you

The oldest millennials at the time were in high school, we weren't the ones with the money to buy expensive things like video game consoles, so we just wished for them and didn't necessarily get them.

She's smart for not admitting to emulator use in public. You may as well ask if she shoplifts and from which stores. People who go online and brag about piracy and other illegal shit are fucking stupid, no public figure in their right mind would do that.

The point is she's mentioning "official software"
She's probably fine with playing N64 games on NSO even though Nintendo's official emulation is inferior 3rd party alternatives

>Nintendo's official emulation is inferior to 3rd party alternatives
Depends on the game and what the criteria is, for example no third party emulator has timing as accurate as Nintendo's NSO emulator for OoT, which means things like sound effects in the final area and the music in the credits are properly synced, or close to it. Though, Ares is getting close.

The quality of the WWE stories and wrestlers have dropped a lot since the Attitude Era of the 1990s.

The reason WWE is still succeeding is because they became a publicly traded company and got outside investors. They also spread out more to other European countries compared to the 1990s when it was just focused on America. Plus the WWE streaming service they have nos.

In short:

1990s/Early 2000s = High Quality Stories. High Quality Wrestlers. Mostly limited to America

Modern DAY WWE = Lower Quality stories and wrestlers. More territory. More outside investors. Quantity over quality.
