I originally read that as 'even better than Dark Resurrection' and was about to call you a faggot. You're right though OP, literally every Tekken fan knows 5 is the best - even the pros and FGC tryhards.

If they remastered this, same engine, same everything with just a graphics upgrade and said ''hey, we're dropping all support for Tekken 8 and instead focusing on Tekken 5 and its approach to Tekken, and translate fan favourite newer characters to be more 5 like in playstyle'' Namco would be completely forgiven. Unfortunately, the world is gay and fighting game fans aren't allowed to have nice things.

I agree on everything except the remaster part, but that's only because it's in my nature to refuse anything remastered or remade. if it would get the normalfags playing, then sure.
also, I think I have a problem. I can't get into any fighting game other than Tekken style. (so Virtua Fighter too, to an extent) the style of Street Fighter and other (2D) fighting games just feel very lame and slow to me.

Tekken 8 looks fine, I say remaster because it means it keeps the original game completely intact, I also think it'd be cool if they added newer Tekken characters and retooled them so they have smaller strings like in 5, rather than the fucking 40 hit wall carry shit we have now. I would also love a straight HD port, but Namco refuse to do that even though their best fighters (Tekken 5 and Soul Calibur 2) are older, they won't even give us modern ports. A proper remaster would allow it to take the place of Tekken 8 fully at EVO and everything.

But you have to admit, Tekken 5 has weird bodies. I remember Jin having weirdly large brown nipples, the artstyle in newer Tekken is fundamentally the same it's just more high fidelity

Also that's normal, with 3D fighters I can only play Tekken and SC, everything else I'm trash, with 2D I can only play SF. Anything remotely different seems to puzzle me and I freeze up. Street Fighter is a bit faster than Tekken so I don't know if I follow you here, if you're throwing out random hits that don't link I guess I can see why you'd think it's slower. not dissing you btw.

It wasn't just improved. Tekken 5 balance is fucked up, at least in the 5.0 version that PS2 port is based on. DR is like a different game entirely and has earned its legendary status. It's wrong to conflate the two.
