man playing sports/action games like downhill domination on the flip2 does not feel great. You have to have your thumb straight on the analogue stick to do a backflip and most of the time it ends up being an awkward 180/360 flip. I feel like the flip2 setup is more suited for jrpgs and the like than games with constant movement. What do you think?
Just got a trimui brick as my first handheld and it's been nice so far, especially the screen and the size is perfect for fitting in my pocket, but apparently they got rid of the metal backplate? Feels like plastic to me, but at least it doesn't seem to get hot, just a little warm. Main problem though is the shoulder buttons are wobbly as fuck. They work fine, but just touching them and moving the device around you get a bunch of clacking sounds as they wobble around. Makes it feel cheap as shit. Anyone else have this problem or know of a way to fix it?

I just got the Miyoo Mini Plus the other day and I'm impressed with how the screen holds up for a $40 China slab. Pic related is the New 3DS XL, Steam Deck OLED, and Miyoo in that order. The Dpad is up to AI interpretation somewhat and I have genned better but will say that this would probably be an accurate estimation of my 'oversized 8-way Vita' design.

is the retroid pocket mini more stable on dolphin than the pocket 2S? If you have a lite, get a DSOne clone then get the DSOne FW.
Every single game works out of the box without needing to manually patch some roms for anti piracy.
There are two downsides though I fear.
1. It will autoboot into the flashcart.
Not really a big deal for me having it autoboot into the cart is kind of neat and if you wanted slot2 theres a nds file that will boot into Slot 2 anyways.
2. Won't work on stock DSi.
If you have a DSi and want to use it you'd have to hack it which is pretty easy in itself and allows you to run any kind of flashcart anyways.
Not a fan of Twilight Menu in any capacity. I think it's neat for DS off SD but some games still have dumb issues and you get the red screen of RAM errors pretty constantly when using cheats on top of them. So I think this is the best way to go.
Though looking now you can't seem to find them anymore sadly so this whole post is meaningless.

I got a powkiddy v90 a while ago then a TSP, and the TSP is super comfy to play, but eve since the 1.18 PPSSPP update the thing feels like its been upgraded. I don't need frameskip on P3rd at x2 res anymore, Peace Walker no longer crashes (and hits the 20fps cap), Outrun is finally stable (admittedly with frameskip).
I had a similar experience when I upgrade the v90 OS and emulators and suddenly it ran SNES without a hitch, but I'm just in awe how much a single emu version can change performance

I think once you find the specific machines you are primarily going to be working with and said machines also work well on stuff below that you're mostly golden. In general you should have your weak under $100 device that can cover one specific device you want to primarily play on, some interim device that's not huge but also not a handheld PC that's about $150ish, and then your handheld PC. I think that covers every form factor and strength ratio you would really need. At this point all I want is a Wonderswan copy and I'd be golden.
For me I got tired of tinkering with handhelds so I ended up down the original hardware rabbit hole.
