You know, now that I actually understand how the progression works, I'm having a lot of fun! I'm in the Dunes course already.

What's your favorite /vr/ golf game? Nintendo not required, of course. Everybody's Golf was great too.

Neo Turf Masters and NES Open are both great. NES Golf is good too but NES Open is just a more advanced version of it.

He's my go to. This game is just so could good. I only finished under par 1 time, I like the way that the difficulty ramps upand it's not all based around throwing in a bunch of hazards. Just slightly curving a course an putting 1 bunker in just the right place is enough to ruin you. Not to say they don't throw cheap stuff in there too but they make you work to get on the green with a birdie try.

I just love those games, watching real golf is boring, and the more realism you add to the games the less it feels like a raw test of skills.

I think this is by default the best Golf game ever. Though Mario Golf Toadstool Tour has a special place in my heart.

It’s got a pretty deep single player experience but honestly it’s just a blast w 4 players. Also Bigfoot and Nessy are in the game… somewhere!

It's true that watching golf is pretty boring but mostly because addressing and moving between holes (not to mention the whole rigamarole of old men fixing green dents before moving on) is in fact soul sucking but the game itself, when you dive deeper, is fascinating.
Like every other thing men like (cars, long distance shooting, drone flying) it's physics and math working in perfect harmony to create a game of inches. Put a nice soundtrack over it and skip the boring bits and you have a recipe for success.

If there is one IP that Microsoft needs to revive; it is Links. No wacky characters or oddball gameplay hooks, just straight up Golf. The last Links release was 2003.

I think it stopped then because it released on xbox and sold poorly.
