This is also using the failed Panasonic M2 hardware. For 1998 arcade release, it sure struggles to compete with Model 2 era arcade games.

To be honest, Model 2 can't do transparencies or smooth Gouraud shading. It was carried by high polygon budget that you could spend on 3D backgrounds or modelling individual fingers on characters.

If this is using some sort of final (or near final) M2 hardware; the 3DO M2 console looks like it would have been somewhere between the N64 and Sega Dreamcast as far as 3D rendering goes. True about the Model 2 transparencies. Though, did some of the later Model 2 board revisions ad transparencies? Visually the game looks like a PS1 3D fighter on steroids. Or like Tekken 3 in the arcades. Not Model 3 tier or NAOMI.
