Part of the reason why I love Majoras Mask so much is because not only did my biological father have nothing to do with me, but what followed was two physically abusive step fathers. That was one of the few games I had and one of the only routes of escape in a time where there was no other reprieve. Dunno if its worse to have no dad or a bad dad.

Looking back it's wild I didn't kill myself, start hurting animals, or some other crazy stuff like that. I had a pretty rough childhood all the way up to my teenage years.

MM really got me through the brunt of it though. Getting the wind knocked out of me at home, aggressively bullied at school, and sleepless nights due to the loud arguments kinda robbed me of a childhood outside of that.

In my 30's now and lifes a lot better. Got a huge and really supportive friend group, go to a small but nice Church, and am pretty social and well liked. There's some small ways the past still messes with me, mostly in learned failure, but you just be aware of that and give yourself some grace. Hold no ill will towards anyone, but sometimes you just wonder if your life could have been more stable and normal had you had two loving parents, but it could have also been worse so things like that are best not to dwell on.

I genuinely enjoyed bath games and I used to win free milkshakes and whatnot at fast food places and restaurants with the drop a coin game. I was so good at it that the bar I used to go to in college quit having the drop for a shot game because people would give me their quarters and I'd win shots over and over.

Wish my raw natural talent was something else, but I guess scamming a carnie-tier game is better than nothing.

So it's basically a roll of the RNG. Play an animation of a coin being dropped, having nothing to do with the outcome, get random number, fall into a predefined win range or not. Probably also can be set from the server to never-win-mode.

FUcking sad. Are they afraid that too many people will win when they cannot actually control the real physical boxes?

this post made me realise that you can't escape trauma, it will lead you to insanity, slavery, or death. you sounded so well-rounded i was confused at first, but then the christcuckery came in. see you either hand over your burdens to the cult, or to the void, but you don't cling because that would be resolving the past, that would be therapeutic but nobody has the time for that anymore.

Numbers 31:
13 Moses, Eleazar the priest and all the leaders of the community went to meet them outside the camp. 14 Moses was angry with the officers of the armyโ€”the commanders of thousands and commanders of hundredsโ€”who returned from the battle.

15 โ€œHave you allowed all the women to live?โ€ he asked them. 16 โ€œThey were the ones who followed Balaamโ€™s advice and enticed the Israelites to be unfaithful to the Lord in the Peor incident, so that a plague struck the Lordโ€™s people. 17 Now kill all the boys. And kill every woman who has slept with a man, 18 but save for yourselves every girl who has never slept with a man.

19 โ€œAnyone who has killed someone or touched someone who was killed must stay outside the camp seven days. On the third and seventh days you must purify yourselves and your captives. 20 Purify every garment as well as everything made of leather, goat hair or wood.โ€

it does make sense you're just retarded. clinging to the past might have negative connotations to you but it's actually necessary to resolve past trauma and guilt. you don't need a kike therapist to hold your hand through it, or a church to recode the meaning, you need alone time and the ability to remember. i reiterate this statement because it is of use to people, i think you're just being obstinate.

Every time I see an SP, I think of the time I was sitting in a car next to this faggot with a lisp and a lazy eye that I hung out with as a kid. We were talking about games, and I mentioned that a new GBA called the SP was coming out. He insisted that I was spelling it wrong, and that it was actually the "XP". I tried to diffuse the conversation several times but he just wouldn't let it go for some reason. I went to see matrix 2 with this same kid and his best friend later on, and they decided to save money by splitting a soda and popcorn. After the movie I told them it was kinda gay that they were drinking the same soda and swapping spit. They got buttmad about it and the XP kid said in his faggy little self-important lisp voice, "It's not gay, it's suction", and proceeded to explain how there was no transfer of saliva because the straw was apparently a one-way corn syrup delivery device through which no DNA could possibly be exchanged. I mentioned backwash and how they were still sucking on the same piece of plastic, but he maintained that there was no residue and that it was not, in fact, gay. I never saw them again after that.

During the gamecube era Nintendo was actually having a bit of an audience problem. Kids were growing up and they were trying to actually appear more mature, you can see that shift in their print ads out in the west. The tribal tat on the GBA is on an ad where Mario himself is tatted up. It took until the Wii for Nintendo to embrace the "kiddy company" look.

Huh. I totally missed this at the time (was playing PC games). The abstract doodads on the GBA look pretty cool but this added "tribal tattoo for tough boys" meaning makes it seem lame again. If anything I would prefer the symbols to be branded as "Hylian runes" or some such crap, that would be fine.

Nintendo really is pathetic. If only Sega would still be alive instead, then maybe we still could get real games.
I mean Nintendo had some talent. They made a lot of innovative games, but this whole fisher price toy philosophy of them is just pathetic.

>be me
>8 years old
>spring of 1997
>my parents told me they bought me a Nintendo 64, and I could play it after my soccer game
>couldnโ€™t concentrate on soccer because I was dying to play the n64, and had watched the Nintendo power promo vhs tape 1000 times
>finally get home
>itโ€™s a SNES
Kind of disappointing, but I was still pretty happy. Set the tone for the rest of my childhood of always being a generation behind, which from the standpoint of a kid with no money is perfect since interest (and prices) for last gen stuff bottoms out

>Biological father was a piece of shit
>Man my mom married after he died was kind of like that too

It's kind of a shame that the only real father figure I had in my life was a guy my mom dated for a while that was into comics and a heavy drunk. And not like a mean drunk either...

It's kinda nice that it doesn't take much to have a positive impact on a kid. A meaningful goal easily reachable for any not psychopathic man.

Well I had my grandfather too. Step dad was shitty for a real long time and made me feel like I wasn't a valued member of the family and would continually undermine me in front of my mother

It's a wonder I'm not a heavy smoker or a drunk

Miyamoto had him stop doing peace signs because he felt it was making him more childish, so it's not like they weren't in that weird expermental approach to make him a little cool in the 2000s
