What are some other good retro JRPGs that are user-friendly/accessible to people who don't normally play JRPGs

Any Dragon Quest game, especially 1-4 and 8. The whole process is just
>grind
>reach a new town
>buy more powerful equipment with the money that you earned while grinding levels and from selling the less powerful equipment that you don't need
>explore a dungeon to get some armor pieces or weapons that you can't buy in town shops, iirc there is nothing hidden behind bullshit like random destructible walls
>rinse and repeat
No overly complicated mechanics and the original release of each game is user-friendly even if we are talking about the NES ones

I've played hundreds of pigs and I can't think of a single skill I've gained playing them that would give me a significant leg up in a new, unrelated game. In other words beginners would not be alienated from any game in the genre besides a sequel.

Tolerance to retarded Japanese storyteling and character tropes is the main skill you get from these

SD Gundam Gaiden: Knight Gundam Monogatari 2 is a really accessible, streamlined and speedy RPG. You don't need to have played the first, it's generous in terms of how you get full replenishes every time you level up (you even get an item early on that keeps your magic user replenished), and it gives you enough tools to navigate your way through dungeons, the overworld and battles without you ever really needing to consult a guide, whilst also rewarding you for exploration. You don't need to ever grind out battles and level up for dedicated periods, because you will always have enough in your arsenal at any one time to deal with enemies and bosses. Plus it has a card battle minigame.

None. I started with Chrono Trigger and then every other JRPG that I tried after that I dropped. They're all dull, too long and repetitive.
