Tekken Chad Tournament
PS2 or arcade version?
Anonymous No.11870448 [Report]
The arcade version is an upgrade kit for Tekken 3 so it's not really that advanced for its day.

PS2 version is what the game should have looked like.

Arcade

Anonymous No.11870491 [Report]
I have always preferred Playstation/Saturn/N64 visuals over the next generation and beyond. So the arcade version for me. I remember finding a machine of it back in 2003 and being pleasantly surprised it still had Tekken 3 graphics, I had only played the PS2 port before then.

I was so used to the arcade version that things like Bryan/Jin/Hwoarang having a few tiny proportion changes on PS2 that made them look lumpy or skinny made me dislike it.

cope. the only people who know frames in fighting games are sweaty fags who take them way too seriously.
fighting games are for mashing buttons with your friends and having a good time. they were never meant to be taken as seriously as you cringe losers take them.
I bet you have a "main" like some massive tryhard douchebag

I was surprised to find out KBDs existed before sidesteps. I thought the sidestep was necessary to interrupt the backdash animation.
Anonymous No.11870574 [Report]
>>11870560
that's not KBD and never has been. KBD cancels the backdash with a crouch.

Why don't Namco add tag mode to the mainline series? It's much more fun than regular 1 on 1 matches. It's also a true tag mode where you have to KO only one guy to win which is more strategic than tag mode in Marvel games.

If you are ever asking yourself whether to play an arcade game or an arcade port, then stop asking. It is the arcade version, 100% of the time.

Anonymous No.11872295 [Report]
Not retro I know but I really wanted to play TTT2 after playing TTT1, and despite having fucking TAG in the name, only one game mode is fucking coop. Easily one of the shittiest sequels ever.

i didnt even know it was in arcades. i got more mileage out of this than probably any other ps2 game. it and tekken 3 were the only fighters i ever actually played somewhat competitive. just amongst friends i mean. had no idea any scene even existed and im sure we wouldnt have been on that level anyway. but we were all around the same skill level so it made it very fun. those days are long gone and feel like a different reality

this is absolutely not the case for tekken tag.
console port has better graphics and more modes. it's simply the better game.

The arcade game is faster though, sometimes it matters more than all the extra modes. And for a 1999 PS1 game it looks good enough.

They want to scalp their player base as much as possible. Tekken 8, even Tekken 9, will NEVER have
>Time Attack
>Survival
>Team
>Tag
>Force
Volleyball is as good as it's going to get. Look forward to Tekken Tag 3 though, it'll be like Tekken 8 with with the DLC characters you paid for in 7 --- but as new DLC with the same moves. Also all the good costumes are paid DLC.

Fuck. At this point they might as well just lock have the movelist and make you pay $1.99 for each individual move. $5.99 and they do 15% more damage. But you have to buy the $1.99 version first, THEN the $5.99 version.

Have you been able to actually confirm this? Arcade TTT being faster is a common knowledge at this point. It certainly feels like PS2 version is more sluggish to me but I am emulating and it may feel wrong because of that.

Mode 7 can move only one background plane. That would be used for the rotating floor.
