It's a great game, very underrated. Vehicular FPS is a forgotten sub genre that was really cool in the mid 90's. These days driving an vehicle in first person seems like a downgrade compared to being on foot, but at the time it was an upgrade in movement and speed because most people didn't use strafing moving the same way we do now.

This game was my first exposure to an actual console running a game. My cousin had a Saturn with a copy of this and it was wild to see.

If you get upset by the delayed controls, play the DOS version keyboard only. I think the delayed controls are supposed to be on purpose though due to the nature of the vehicle.

If you bought a Legacy of Kain game from the bargain bin you were in for a good time.

I remember as a kid getting really freaked out by the intro where the stuff comes out of the TV.

It's a solid 7/10 game in my view - fun for a quick blast, but I never found myself desperate to come back to it.

The game was put into development in either 1994 or 1995. It was clearly named after the Bush (or Bush Z as they were known in Canada) hit single 'Machine Head' from 1994:

Core was putting out games FAST at the time and considering the quality of the engine + the fact that it was a mid to late 96 release I doubt the development went that far back.

Shellshock was earlier 1996, you can see the technical progression
