Anyone else really like playing a retro system on one of the "mini" consoles? I don't care for fucking with analog to digital conversion and I don't have a CRT, for me the SNES Classic has low input lag, a clean signal with good 4:3 interpolation, perfect controller repros, and a nice interface.

really looking forward to finishing that chrono trigger save
it's her favourite rpg and i can see why

i know i can just shelf the thing and play snes on my chinkhelds, but the home menu for this thing is so good :)

i also have a genesis mini, but i don't think it's as endearing/charming as this little thing

i have a JP md mini - the import was worth the jp exclusive 6 button controllers, which thankfully have usb ports unlike the snes mini controllers

plays sega cd just fine, albeit requiring an external usb drive

it's definitely not my preferred way to play sega cd, but the option is there

Yeah, I do. I love my minis. They're great. One was a birthday present and I got the other off a CL ad for $70. The controllers are excellent and they are an easy way to hook up a bundle of classic games to any modern set up. The fit & finish on these things is quite nice. They are very cute and the menu screen music is upbeat and fun. The controllers themselves are an excellent value and make the price worth it because you can use them on any system going back to the Wii. I have them set up in the living room for the kids and the wife. Criticism for these things is coming from one group of people, who, given their low-life status as NEET's and whiny poors (essentially children), their opinion does not matter.

I considered the SNES Classic but I really don’t like the flaps they have for controller ports. And NES Classic is kind of underwhelming in terms of games.
I do really want to get one (Dreamcast, Saturn, N64) but I don’t think they're going to make the one I want

I have a lot of the mini consoles that I got for xmas over the years still in box, but I emulate other ways so they don't have much appeal aside from the controllers I guess.
I did open up the NES classic and put hackhi on it for all 2 button systems but it was prone to crashing on me.
The only other one I bothered with is the SNK arcade stick with the built in games and the neo geo cd pads that you can plug into it for extra controllers. It was fun to beat a bunch of arcade games on it with a friend.

I agree. What i prefer about these mini consoles is that you don't need to bother moving your computer in your living room or have wires running through your house, you don't have to wait for your pc to boot, open an emulator, find your roms, etc... to play retro games. You just power it on and in a few seconds you are playing the game just like in those good old times, comfy and easy

You could do all of that with a mini PC that was smaller, more powerful, faster, could play more than judt SNES games, could use amy peripherals you wanted, and would be cheaper than one of these, while also not looking gay as shit. Of course, this wouldn't provide you with your hit of soi and you're too retarded to use a computer, so this isn't a viable solution I suppose.
