They lied to us. The N64 ports came out much later than advertised! And they sucked major ass!

they could have sold a lot more N64s if they had just put a metal plate inside it (just for the sake of making it heavier). weight = quality, for a lot of people, so the N64 would have been taken much more serious at a negligible cost

Unironically true to an extent. Dreamcast console and control were so light they felt cheap to me.

Apparently it was Shigesato Itoi, creator of Mother series, who suggested going for a more minimalistic approach and also to emphasize the 64-bit part of the name more.

Ultra probably came around in 1994? I remember around 1993 or early 1994 it was still Project Reality
Anonymous No.11890310 [Report] >>11890343
yeah we all used ultra sixty four and psx when we talked about these consoles. I remember.

When it comes to IRL outloud speak, yeah "ultra" was used. But I don't remember people saying Pee Ess Ecks, it was always Playstation or The Play

Anonymous No.11893384 [Report]

they could have called it the ultra nintendo.
it's a perfect evolution of the naming scheme.
>nintendo entertainment system
>super nintendo entertainment system
>ultra nintendo entertainment system (64 optional, but i bet they really wanted to include that)
i suppose they asked "but what would we call the next nintendo system?"

>The FCC tests all electronics products for RF emissions (that is why there is so much metal shielding inside U.S. gaming systems), and this process takes a few months. Japan does not have similar emission testing and that is why it can come to market over there so soon.
What in the goddamn?
