Ok I finally beat all the classicvania games in anticipation of this. What should I expect?

Some people just want to play a linear 2D side stroller, and after SOTN they just stopped making those full stop. Not saying that's bad, I like metroidvania. But if you don't then castlevania just stops catering to your niche after this point

order of shadows is pure dogwater and more of a mix of both formulas anyway but adventure rebirth is actually pretty good, you can emulate it on dolphin easily

I loved SOTN, but I started playing Aria of Sorrow and I gotta say.. this could be even better. Sound and graphics are worse, though I'm playing on a CRT so that probably helps. But the mechanics seem like an improvement.
