Why do you use this for gaming? Explain yourself right now

Unironically better than Windows unless you like modern AAA games (and on this board we do not like those)

I don't I just installed Windows 11 the correct way and then debloated it.

feels good

Linux is for trannies. Windows 10 IoT LTSC 22H2 is the white men way.

For me it's the TOPS-10 operating system

This is /vr/ right? If we're talking about emulating old shit, I'm pretty sure both Linux and Windows have access to most emulators and will work about the same. But Linux won't capture your screen every three seconds and then use AI to extract information from the images and build a profile on you.

This, it's why I'm glad to be a Deck owner. (Bonus points for also being a great emu machine.)

I installed Windows 10 on my Deck

Yikes, doesn't that introduce overhead? I'm well aware it's possible to go for a debloated LTSC edition, but I'm not sure if that's any better than sticking with SteamOS. I guess it's an appealing option if I absolutely need ShaderGlass for non-RA stuff.

Never in my life have I encountered a retro game that didn't work on Linux ...
Anonymous No.11895512 [Report]

The correct way is LTSC

it's the only thing that runs on my chinkhelds.
Anonymous No.11895520 [Report]
Because it's unironically much easier to get a couple retro computer games working in wine than it is to setup and deal with a (whether it be virtual, or physical) Windows 9x machine

Good taste, Android's emulators tend to be paid outside of Retroarch.
Anonymous No.11895848 [Report]
nice /v/ trash thread you've got there
Anonymous No.11896209 [Report]
better win16 support for late 90s games

linux has better performance on software mode emulators, but worse performance on hardware mode

>"debloat" Windows 11
>only gets rid of maybe 5% of the telemetry
>still uses 4GB of RAM after a cold boot
>still have a shitty GUI where basic components like the Start Menu are written in fucking JavaScript
Join the penguin.

you say this but there are obvious outliers like ubuntu

Ew, I'd rather use something Arch-based after getting used to SteamOS.

I need to read more carefully before replying.

Does MouseInjector work on Wayland yet? To test, you'll need:
>An old version of Duckstation
https://github.com/duckstation/old-releases/releases/tag/v0.1-5943
>A compatible game (I choose Mega Man Legends 2)
https://vimm.net/vault/5972
>And MouseInjector itself

the concerns for ubuntu are completely overblown and aren't stuff other distros don't also do just more quietly. Just look at redhat.
I use opensuse tumbleweed btw

I feel like trying to do *bsd gaming today would be like trying to linux gaming 10+ years ago
Anonymous No.11896439 [Report]
Because the ARM version of Windows sucks major dicks and is a bloated mess if you just need something very lightweight purely for a specific task. Such as running the background OS for my MiSTer.
Anonymous No.11896446 [Report]

even mac gaming is superior to bsd
wtf are you talking about?

Basically I don't like Windows in general, linux works well for everything else I do and gaming is good enough at this point.

by the way you can't even remove the windows 11 start menu popup without finding a powershell script online
worse humiliation ritual than actually playing neslop

That's not "debloating", that's getting rid of some jeet-added retardation. You're still dealing with the shitty start menu.

Literally everything /vr/ can be played on it, Anons here have no excuses
Anonymous No.11897223 [Report]
The only reason i'm running windows now has nothing to do with games honestly.
Once file pilot and rad debugger gets ported over I won't have much of an excuse to use windows anymore.
