Finding the bonus rooms is bullshit

I found them all on my first playthrough. You're just bad, and probably a youth too.

But it is rewarding

They're bonus for a reason.

Honestly this

Actually I was at 99% so I called the Nintendo help line and they told me about the exclamation point denoting a fully finished level which I hadn't noticed and felt like an idiot

the bonus stage music is now playing in your head

>call is largely him berating you for being suckered in by a game with flashy 3D graphics, a tip on how to get to a bonus room, and then going on a tangent how you wouldn't last a second finding the sorts of secrets they had in the games of HIS days, no sir

Lol kind of yeah

The guy on the other end was like 'that's what it's for' like I should have found it obvious

It’s all spelled out for you in the manual. Unfortunately American children can’t read.

I'm actually British but I didn't read the manual
>That's a US manual
I know I imported all my SNES stuff because PAL sucks

>bonus rooms just give you... extra lives
>which, if you're invested enough in the game to try to hunt down every bonus room, you probably don't need
>find every bonus room
>you don't get anything
It's amazing how Rare bungled bonus rooms so terribly in the first game, but completely redeemed themselves in 2, by rewarding dedicated players with access to harder levels and the true ending

Complaining about not being able to "100%" the game easily is peak zoomer mentality.

A player or reviewer in 1994 would have said
>If you want to 100% the game you'll be in for the long haul! This game will keep you invested for days!

And then DKCR/Tropical Freeze fucked it up again by making the rooms give you... concept art pieces

Except the word's been ruined nowadays. It's the new trendy word everyone uses for everything and nothing. Something mild? "Incroyable". A small annoyance? "Incroyable". Something good but not that important or uncommon? "Incroyable".

>Du coup c'est incroyable!

Did DKC on original hardware have slight slowdown? I've not played it on an actual SNES in 20 years, but when I emulated it recently it had a bit of slowdown and I don't know if that's baked in or if it's the emulation. My PC runs PS2 emulation and modern games perfectly, so I don't know what's up.

You won't be whining about those extra lives when you reach Gorilla Glacier!
