I searched it in Japanese. Basically, Oro saw that Akuma had a murderous intent and that there would be no end to it and the death arts or whatever would only lead to more and more killing, so them mutually killing each other wouldn't actually be a draw, Oro would be the winner from his moral standpoint in that he ended Akuma's reign of killing and stamped out one kind of evil. Oro would be a sacrifice that saved many others, so Akuma had no intent to die to him.

I'm not a fanatic lore guy or anything, but in this case Akuma is one of the main characters in the game and many people's favorite, I think it's normal to be curious about him
