Now try an actually challenging game.

Y not. SMB1 and 3 had warps. There's a speedrun category for any % where people go exactly this route. SM64 can be beaten with what, zero stars?

It takes significantly more skill to beat it with zero stars than 120 stars

Did you find all these secrets blind the very first time you played the game??

I did as a young slavechild. It unlocked chocolate world or some shit. Didn't play again as I always had some of disinterest for Mario, even after I beat 64 I found Yoshi and then was like fuk it. Super Mario RPG and Troubkemakers are what stuck with me.

I am pretty sure I didn't even realize what the red levels meant back then. The only secrets I knew about for sure were the Top Secret Area and the Special Zone because I recall watching the old GamePro show from the 90s talk about it.

>>11929596
>It unlocked chocolate world or some shit.
That's just world 6. you get there normally.

>I beat 64 I found Yoshi and then was like fuk it
Unless you have near-speedrun level of skills in wall-kicking, you can only get to Yoshi by 100%ing the game. That includes getting 100 coins in every level.

True. That's the point of the warp levels though; it's kind of the equivalent of SMB3's whistles, but it's made redundant by the fact that the game also added a save feature.

What are you talking about? SMB3 had saves. So did the original SMB1 and 2, even that weird Lost Levels spinoff.

You played SMW for the first time and completely without prior knowledge, you found the secret exits to donut plains 1, donut secret, and secret ghost house, AND also figured out all the secret exits to the Star World and made it to bowser. All on your first time.
Right.

I did. I got the game on Christmas and beat it at about 6:40am the first day that school started again by taking the shortcut through star road. Get fucked retard kids used to be smart. I was the kid who found all the secrets and was respected as the video game master, even to teenagers. However, thats just because I didnt have many hobbies and played the games more than most. Since you didnt have an infinite amount of games like kids do these days, youre going to spend a lot of time trying to make the most out of the games that yoi have, and eventually run into secret stuff overtime.

But you found your way to bowser's castle without even entering vanilla dome?
I remember not being able to find the first donut plains secret because I wasn't good enough at flying, I only got to it after I found the green switch palace (thanks to a magazine tip)
And then it wasn't until later that I found out about the secret ghost house big boo fight, that one is well hidden (but I found that on my own and was proud of it).
Eventually I became a master of smw and could fly wherever I wanted and get all secrets without needing any color blocks. But the way there wasn't instantaneous to me.
What I can't remember is if I first got to Bowser through Star road or regular path, but at that point I had seen most of the game, I remember getting filtered hard on chocolate island so I might have found my way through Star world, not sure.

all the secrets in SMW have some pretty obvious hints leading you to them, except maybe the top secret zone which i found right away just cause i went into the ghost house with a cape, flew up and hit the roof and wondered if there was a gap to get into it and nice there was

i remember not having any idea wtf was going on in that level and dreaded the idea of it being the last exit, took a lot of random messing around to get it lol

Dude, shut up, Im probably a decade older at least.
I was born in the mid to late 80s. I got SNES with SMW in 1992 and 100% the game sometime next year. I didnt get the internet until 1995, and I remember the Oklahoma City bombing the same year because a relative lived there and my family couldn't reach him (he turned out ok). I remember making up "let's kill barney" songs with my elementary school friends, Halloween 93 having 95% of kids as Power Rangers including me.
Seriously, fuck off, you might as well be a zoomer larping as a millennial or Xer because you're embarrassed most of your generation are failures at being functional human beings, despite you being no better than them.

lol. Yes, you probably are a decade older at least in your larp than you are irl. You can't even decide what year you want to larp as being born in. What an embarrassingly weak larp.
