Little fun story about the game, if anyone cares:

I remember on the last day of school, probably 6th grade, one of our teachers let us do whatever the fuck we wanted.
I remember one of the "cool" kids brought his PS2 with a few games, mostly racing shit and most notably Tekken 5.
We played all the racing slop, and he's win all the time and he wouldn't shut the fuck up about how he'd kick everyone's ass in Tekken.

So the moment arrived for us to play Tekken and not only had he not unlocked everyone, I fucking humiliated the guy in like 10 games in a row and he rage quit and turned off the console and put it back in his backpack

That was my proudest gamer moment that I'll never forget.

I mean that was a result of the decline of wrestling as a whole, kayfabe was dead, and they were trying to rebuild it with less absurd and outlandish stunts. As a result the games, where everything is real, at least as far as the game is concerned weren't allowed to do the insane stunts they used to or even have fun like the old arcade games because wrestling as a whole was just less fun. Fuck Cena, Fuck Nu-HHH and FUCK VINCE.
2007 is the last playable wrestling game 06 was great purely because of it's take on career mode. That one legends game they made was a step in the right direction but just wasn't what I wanted, it was nice to see them try to do something fun at least.

Sims 1 was the only good game in my eyes. I mean in an overall package due to its aesthetics, dark humor, and music. Everything else after specifically felt like they were specifically targeting the 8-24 year old female demographic rather than everyone like Maxis traditionally did. And yes, the gameplay, especially housing did get far more complex with later iterations, its everything from the art style of the characters to the uber feminine mannerisms and expressions of the characters that really bothers me.

PS2 in my mind is just wrapped up with the image of boring normies who only play car games and Fifa.

Only a little over 20m, with only 5.5m for Halo CE and 8.45m for Halo 2. It was only with the rise of the 360 in the late 2000's and Halo 3 (14.5m) that you saw a larger demographic play Halo before it started lowering because CoD4 came out and by the time MW2 arrived in 2009, the console FPS throne was taken from it.

The sims is one of the most common CD and DVDs I'd find game collecting in thrift stores back in the day, I have a whole shelf of sims games and add ons. Never got into it, its defnitely a female thing but like sex in the city DVDs and romcoms they bough a LOT of it.
