From every that strange Hawaiian said, it sounds like the dpad is totally fine/above average. They've never had STELLAR Dpads but they've consistently been better than Nintendo's for quite a while now. The SN30 had a totally fucked up one and unfortunately that was just a really early and popular product from them, so the reputation stuck. I play /vr/ with my Pro 2 and never ever had an issue with diagonals or anything. Did you even watch the video or are you just ESL?

Listen close when he press on dpad it sound 1:1 like 8bitdo ultimate (xbox one like) clicky dpad. I do not wanna play /vr on xbox one clicky dpad dude even if it pass "contra test" it feels awful when it comes to 3d ps1 games.
