RetroAchievements is endorsing a new emulator called Afterplay, which locks basic features like fast-forward behind a paywall. There also seems to be a 7-day trial, after which you're forced to pay to get basic features.

Is this one of those viral marketing things where somebody says something bad about a product just to get people talking about it and looking into it themselves in hopes people will decide for themselves that it's actually good? The kind that would work especially well here do to the contrarian nature of 4chan?
