Demon Castle Dracula thread
How are you preparing for this year's October Castlevania rituals, /vr/?
I'm going to be playing Lament, along with Bloodlines and possibly I will do Rondo and IV as always
I played too much of the NES and N64 games last year so I'll give those a rest.
What about you? Don't forget to play Akumajou Dracula X68000 and Dracula XX too!

I'm working on getting 1CCs in all the classic Castlevanias. Might be fun to try to marathon them on my favorite holiday :^)

I really need to get around to playing Lament (and Curse of Darkness for that matter)

NTA but Castlevania is not only prime /vr/ (there's a good reason there's at least one CV thread up at any given time) but prime Halloween vidya, with how much of a love letter to classic horror cinema the series is
Classicvanias are the closest you'll ever get to a real game adaption of the old Hammer Horror and Universal Horror flicks

We do this every year, dip shit newfag. It's not just reddit it's just a general gamer thing. Seasonal gaming is fun and autumn is great for the atmospheric change. Taking a walk in the woods at dusk, then play silent Hill as your cooking a roast in the oven. I like over stimulation, so id probably have some kind of documentary of Halloween or something similar playing in the background.

IV, Dracula X and Rondo for sure. Maybe Aria of Sorrow or one of the DS games (though those aren’t considered retro here yet).

I tried playing Curse of Darkness again but I got bored when I reached the forest. It's weird because I liked Lament but I can't get around to finish Curse. That, the MSX, that arcade shooter, some mobile shit and Lords of Shadow 2 are the only games of the series that I never finished.

I love the mystery behind the castle in Lament. I want to know more about the different areas.
Like what IS the Anti Soul Mysteries Lab?

kind of running low on new castlevania games, recently i played through the gameboy ones for the first time. i've got dracula x chronicles, circle of the moon, order of ecclesia, and the four 3d games left, so i should be on the latter by october. well technically i also haven't played vampire killer, haunted castle (is the new remake any good?), and kid dracula but those'll be some day when i run out of new games and get bored.
