Where else do you post about retro games?
Historically, I've liked /vr/ because it's pretty wide ranging in topics, genres and systems, whereas most other forums I'm aware of with an active community (i.e. more than one post a day) tend to be pretty specialist. I wondered if you had any other places you liked to discuss retro games?

I'd like to know as well HOWEVER if there is a such a good place that is decent NOBODY should advertise it here

All the places i went to are long dead. If this shit hole didn't exist, my daily internet usage would be cut down by 90%.

i can't help you there unfortunately. imo Discord in general is a really chill place. maybe look for a retro themed channel there.
that "Whats New?" tab really makes me yearn for a retro themed website that is dedicated on everything happening with retro games (mods, randomizers, re-releases, fangames, etc). a lot is happening in communities lately and it's pretty sad that you can miss out on some crucial nuggets just because you weren't surveilling a certain place 24/7

my thoughts too, this board is effectively a /v/tard containment zone if there truly is a greener retro pasture out there

There are a few youtube channels that do quick, monthly round-ups of all retro news. I think one is some brit guy with a channel or series literally just called Retro News Round-Up and he covers stuff like translations and homebrew. And the vids are really only like 5 minutes long and links are provided for everything. I think theres also that one RGB fag with his own site/channel that does similar, but more focused on hardware and he talks about the stuff more.

/vr/ is the only place I can talk about newer retro games like the 6th gen and pre-2008 PC games.

A few months back I found a forum called retro game talk which seems to have popped up after cdromance died. I get my roms elsewhere so I just go there for the forums which are quite active. Unfortunately a lot of the users there are genuinely retarded but that seems to be the norm for the internet in general these days.

what a crappy intro piece, it was literally blogging about how some other project went tits up and bringing up yugioh for no reason.

Thanks - I'll check it out.

It's a good point. Maybe describing it in a way that someone who can't be bothered to put in 30 seconds of google searching could find would suffice.

Will have a look. Do these channels have a community as well? It's partly the discussion and suggestions and ideas from other people I'm looking for.

I've tended to stay away from Discord apart from for specific group chats with friends. Maybe I need to take the plunge.

I wanted to comment on that calling the author a retard and pointing out everything wrong with their drivel but the comments are locked.

Anyway don't waste your time reading the retarded blog posts.

I mean you have youtube comment section. For the RGB guy, he has his own website which may have forums.
