How was I supposed to knoooooooow (that the bow could kill the giant ant) maybe I will go back and try it again at some point. I don’t think it was a good idea for them to have the avoidable giant squid at the start because that was probably why I just gave up and started looking for an alternate route.

So how far into the game was I when I encountered the giant ant? I feel like I wasn’t very far into the game which was also probably why I thought it could be bypassed. I thought I could return with stronger gear to kill it.

The reason I had made the map I think was to keep track of which areas I had 100% explored because I was convinced there was something I was missing and there was a hidden secret or something I was missing. It’s easier on paper to just cross areas out you have swept and that’s different than you having walked through them briefly. just because you have been to that area of the map doesnt mean you inspected everything closely.

In retrospect I’m surprised I didn’t use the bow to kill the ant. I’m sure I would have tried so maybe I ran out of arrows or something? or maybe I forgot I had it. No clue. What is it about giant ants in games soft locking you? I remember when I played fallout 3 and left the vault I first went to that city that was populated with giant fire breathing ants and I had no armor and was leveled for melee attacks and got rekt.
