That's the issue, they were neither doing real moves nor they were doing good looking moves. Compare a Van Damme splits punch to Johnny Cage weak faggy one, the one where they had to animate the actual split by hand because Pesina couldn't do it. Takuma moves were done by studying real karate footage. That's how realistic moves in 2D fighters were done in general. Digitizing real actors is not better for realism if those actors are bad or if the choreographer doesn't know shit
