This is a real shame. Nintendo's lack of foresight basically killed all my interest in this console.

I'm going to learn but I dunno it's kind of a pain in the ass when I know there are games on the GBA that use other save methods. It's not like the SNES where the tech seemingly wasn't there yet

So here's how this goes: you're supposed to get mad because it's easy to change a battery, and then some other guys (one guy) are going to talk about "having to solder is difficult", which is really further bait to make you angry about how anyone could consider soldering hard. Then, it'll turn into an EPPROM argument, then some shit about memory cards, which will lead to a discussion about the PS1 somehow (if it isn't brought up sooner), some redditor pseuds will offer up shallow and innocent opinions that take the bait at face value, and then guys who masturbate to hentai will call each other gay. That's the rest of the thread from this post onward. Please enjoy.

If you do have to put in a new battery it'll last a long time. It's really not a big deal. Obviously it's a lot less convenient than not having to do it, but I have very little soldering skill and the cheapest, crappiest soldering iron on the planet and I was recently able to remove and restore a GBA game battery in just a few minutes without much difficulty.

If you go in assuming that OP is guilty until proven innocent then you're the one bringing negativity. Well other than OP I guess, since OP did bait us a bit with the "real shame" thing, there is that. But maybe OP is still cool. OP, are you cool?

Yeah, I mean it when I say it's a shame, I wanna explore its library without having to check this list first, and also knowing that most of the games I already have for it are probably dead right now and all my saves wiped is depressing and really put a damper on the idea of getting more.

I'm not a big GBA defender or anything, never liked the console because of the screen, though nowadays I enjoy it better because of emulation handhelds, the library's alright... but passwords are fine, OP. If anything they're more SOVLFULL in my eyes. Also, in the same way that modern emulation handhelds fixed my screen issue, it also fixes this. Just use save states instead of passwords.

>i don't know were to buy the tools to replace it on my own as i should have done so once every five years.
>i'm too mentally impaired to use and emulator like vba m and just keep the saves safe for years.
Is all i could read from your message.
