Ive played a little here and there but I need to sit down and play it. It felt really comfy to play. Gonna dedicate some time. In Zelda mode atm. It looks fun though the graphics are really nice too

Why wouldn't you? Honestly it's a shame it's so short. Can easily be beaten in a day.

Yeah it's pretty good. It does what it sets out to do and is cute along the way. No complaints here

I don't really know why somebody wouldn't besides either not liking the genre or being contrarian. It's not a masterpiece but it's really solid gameplay and has good flow to it, and even though it's short it means things don't get samey either. The only thing that gets annoying is the boos with massive hp pools that you have to hunt down all of to get the gold diamond hundred percent completion, even with Boolossus taking up a chunk of Boo collection I still would have liked if the later ones did something different besides being more obese.

i don't understand why people didn't
1. it's a good game
2. it's a neat little pastiche of survival horror games
3. it's actually pretty atmospheric and creepy

That era of Nintendo criticism was just really dumb. "What do you mean this isn't exactly what I already played on the SNES and or N64?". "What do you MEAN this isn't a 20 hour game, when it works just fine as a 5 hour game?".

Nah, there were no bundles at launch as far as I remember.
Also I remember visiting like 10 different stores before finding a single memory card, and even that was a 3rd party one. Shit sucked.

nice weekend rental; not likely to make anyone buy a console that (with inflation) is now the equivalent of $360USD/$500 CAD.

I got a gamecube and luigi's mansion for christmas when I was like 16 and I remember not really liking it and thought it was weird, I don't think i finished it at the time. I played it again recently though and it is kinda fun and ended up playing through it twice in a row.

I never see anyone say this, but Luigi’s Mansion was very visually impressive to me at the time. Character models are very large on the screen, good ammount of color and visual effects from the ghosts. The lighting is a little flat, I guess, but at the time I was very impressed.
It looked a lot better than, say, Wario World. I thought Sunshine was kind of boring looking, too.
