Who would win out of the classic MM robot masters
If they all hated each other. Just based on gameplay mechanics not lore.

toadman has the most powerful ability which is to turn robots into cavemen.
Anonymous No.11952127
I'd say Elec Man. He can do a fuckton of damage, his weapon's attack pattern is basic (which is probably better than some of the ones which have weird patterns), plus he's pretty agile. Granted, it depends on what we're counting as canon, since if his AI in the hypothetical combat is as easily tricked as it is in-game, he'd be toast.
Anonymous No.11952428
Based entirely on mechanics, probably a robot master who is periodically invulnerable. Charge Man, Stone Man, etc. Sole reason being that all bosses tend to have a very basic pattern, assuming each hits each other semi-equally, the ones who take no damage from the attack most often are the winners.

There's a guy on youtube who's literally been having the robot masters fight each other using their original in-game attack patterns.

The winners would be Air Man and Bubble Man, based on those fights. Bubble Man is actually aggressive as fuck, while staying out of everyone's way and no-one actually has a counter for Air Man's Air Shooter.

>>11958809
Are you talking about the Mega Man Victory channel or someone else? Because if MMV then Heat Man so far has the best win/loss ratio but Air Man has the more dominant wins (more perfects or near perfects whereas Heat Man usually still takes a lot of damage). Bubble Man is pretty high tier but still inferior to 4 robot masters from his own game (tbf MM2 has the best by far, just absolute studs).

While that would super fun (I'm picturing a big ass map like the overworld in the Megaman ZX games to explore, so you can run into all the RM's in specific themed areas and you get to plan your load-out at Dr. Light's Lab), the whole thing would be a nightmare to balance.

What happens when 2 robot masters collide? Do they both take damage?

Obviously in the games only Mega Man takes damage from that and it's an advatange on the robot masters for that. If both robot masters take damage or if nothing happens at all then it's an unfair disadvantage for the many, MANY robot masters who are built on looking for collision with the opponent.

A single game with all the robot masters, Mega Man Maker is something like that, right? It's just that it would be a bunch of disconnected levels instead of a game.

I'm glad you like it anon. It's funny because I used to be a huge MMA fan but largely lost interest in it long ago and these robot master matches have replaced that itch. Part of the fun once you've watched a lot of them is trying to predict how the next newly introduced robot master will do.
>>11960092
For normal matches contact damage isn't activated unless it's an attack or jump that clearly relied on it. Honestly that's the main issue I have with the whole thing is that determining who deserves contact damage and for which frames vs who doesn't seems like it'll always be somewhat arbitrary, and unfortunately some of the robot masters have been hit hard by that because even their projectiles were meant mostly to bait Mega Man into running into their bodies (Snake Man being a good example and he sucks balls in these). The meta seems to be that the robot masters with the most i-frames do the best, probably followed by robot masters that have projectiles that are hard to avoid, while the worst are the ones that rely mostly on running into you but in ways that don't have unique animations and are therefore not programmed to do contact damage (but should be imo).

Ha, I used to watch full cards of UFC when I was actually doing it and now that I don't I just watch the top fight on each main card and that's it

Predicting who's gonna win is definitely what keeps you hooked

Probably Drill Man. He can be fully invinicible almost indefinitely as long as his AI decides to keep digging underground over and over.
Otherwise it'd have to be someone who stays in the air for a majority of the fight.

As far as I know, that's only Bubbleman's AI, and only when you're on lower ground than him. Every other robot master either has a basic script where they jump from one side of the room to the other and hurl projectiles or move from side to side while occasionally firing.

I always wanted a Symphony of the Night style Megaman where the bosses of the castle give you their abilities, but the catch is not all bosses are available every run based on the order you do things. So there's a pool of 32 bosses but you only get 12-16 weapons from fighting them. Obviously some bosses are harder than others, are hidden, or need a sequence break to get to them, and they tend to have better weapons.

Could even go the Megaman X route and have capsules show up for armor upgrades.

Metal Man won't attack you until you move and I'm pretty sure Crash Man doesn't start throwing Crash Bombs until you shoot at him.
Anonymous No.11965156
>>11965114
Crash doesn't, he's programmed to jump and fire when you attack. Metal I don't think will attack until you move, but because of the conveyor belt pushing you towards him you'll have to move pretty quick to not get hit anyway. That is applicable if you're playing randomizer though, since a non-belt room lets you hold still for quite a while.
