I'm glad you like it anon. It's funny because I used to be a huge MMA fan but largely lost interest in it long ago and these robot master matches have replaced that itch. Part of the fun once you've watched a lot of them is trying to predict how the next newly introduced robot master will do.

For normal matches contact damage isn't activated unless it's an attack or jump that clearly relied on it. Honestly that's the main issue I have with the whole thing is that determining who deserves contact damage and for which frames vs who doesn't seems like it'll always be somewhat arbitrary, and unfortunately some of the robot masters have been hit hard by that because even their projectiles were meant mostly to bait Mega Man into running into their bodies (Snake Man being a good example and he sucks balls in these). The meta seems to be that the robot masters with the most i-frames do the best, probably followed by robot masters that have projectiles that are hard to avoid, while the worst are the ones that rely mostly on running into you but in ways that don't have unique animations and are therefore not programmed to do contact damage (but should be imo).
