Well, for FF7 and Bahamut Lagoon, maybe it had something to do with Motomu "Lightning" working on both games. Ditto Takashi Tokita working on Live A Live and FFIV (remember: Kain goes back and forth so much because Golbez/Zemus take advantage of his seething over how Rosa loves Cecil).
