Linux gaming back in the day
What was gaming on Linux like back in the /vr/ era? I imagine Wine wasn't playing anything that needed DX8, and that even console emulators were shoddy.

To tell you the truth, I just played Flash games since I couldn't get Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds to run.

linux barely existed in the /vr/ era and had no games. It first existed as a way for students to complete unix c project coursework at home, no one used it for games, that was DOS

You know how nearly every Flash game from the 2000s was a third person shooter where you used WASD to move and the mouse to aim? Abuse was the originator, and it was made by the same guy who ported Doom to Linux.

Imagine how much of PC gaming back then was basically a trickle
Now imagine it being more of a trickle, and that's linux gaming, basically a joke outside of UT
