>Ridiculous vram
ridiculously fast.

>No 4 controller
buy the multitap, good goy.

>No online
online was irrelevant when it was made, most places still only had dialup.

>No anti-aliasing
it actually had, but the GS had a bug that prevented it from working.

>No VGA
it had Component.

It is kinda weird they replaced the PlayStation so fast, it was barely 5 years old. It easily could’ve had a Famicom lifespan, but they were desperate to one up Sega.

Your opnion doesn't matter
>>Ridiculous vram
Tech illiterate
>>No 4 controller
A dying trend just like arcades. Sold separately. Play online instead.
>>No online
FFXI Online came out in early 2002. Servers got shutdown in 2014.
>>No anti-aliasing
Jump like every console. But CRTs did a nice job hiding the jaggies.
>>No VGA
It's a video game console, not a PC. Designed to be used on a shitty average CRT TV.

couldn't support the games devs wanted to make, ambitious fully 3d games struggled to be playable.

I was thinking about this earlier, PS1 felt so old from a technological point of view later on, like it had 2MB RAM and 1MB VRAM. It wasn't even that old, it went from late 1994 to early/late 2000. It was still selling well because it had such a broad library.
It was basically the standard console like how GameBoy was the standard handheld.

I tried playing the Ace Combat games after finishing the PS2 trilogy, I couldn't. PS1 was a bit too technically limited for some games.

I remember using the firewire with my buddy. Pretty cool.

Turns out you can sell more consoles then they have a notoriously high hardware failure rate

This isn't funny. It caused generational trauma.

Sony saved video gaming after Nintendo (with their draconian bullshit) and Sega (with their general stupidity) fucked it up, some people get extremely upset when you point this out
