Hardest games you've beaten
This was absolute hell. Your regular attacks barely do any damage, and specials are impossible to pull off with any consistency. I won't ever play it again.

I beat DMC1-3 as a kid but now my hands are too fucked up and slow and imprecise due to working that I can't beat the first boss of 1 no matter how many times I retry.

You're supposed to use negative edge in SF1, in case you weren't aware.

Either SMB2J or Plok, both are a solid tie in terms of difficulty.

Getting all platinums in Blast Corps was a major achievement at the time. I've probably done harder stuff but that was one where I felt the greatest sense of achievement.

I felt a similar sense of achievement when playing Gunstar Heroes. (However, I ended up liking the GG version a bit more because it skips the Dice Palace entirely.)

1cc street fighter 2010 the final fight, bit I did it on a Wii. I've been playing on a real console trying to do it again, but fuck me. You basically have to not get hit ever. Luckily, fully powered up, you're an absolute unit. That and zombies ate my neighbors. I don't care what anybody says, zamn gets hard as balls in the later stages. It's all about rng though

Kid Chameleon. I beat the last quarter of the game on my first attempt, too. Gradius, Punch-Out!!, and Double Dragon 1 (all on NES) are also definitely up there.

Shin Megami 1 and 2 are supposed to be hard? They're piss easy.

Oh god, that game is literal hell! The fact that it had invisible blocks meant to troll you long before Kaizo is especially evil.

Castlevania 3 JP version
I'm absolutely terrible at video games, so I still don't know how the fuck I did it. I think the Doppelganger stage alone took me about a week to get through.

Fucking pic related. Your only hope is to inch forward ever so carefully and have the reaction time of an abused housewife.
I won't do that that again because it's too stressful.

I had to use save states when I played through it (didn't beat it) and I admire anyone who can endure that game. How Capcom allowed a sequel to be made is beyond me.

This anon knows. I find getting the bazooka in the first stage and thus getting access to the hidden stage ends up helping out,(and that's random) but you need to be fairly accurate against those gigantic spiders, and there's a few mazes that drove me nuts a few times and caused me to game over. I find that the final boss was tough, but at least you can fall back and eventually win, but make no mistake, you're right. That game is a bastard in terms of difficulty. Love it though. Beaten in only twice in all these years and never back in the day.

Adventure Island
1943

Kung Fu Heroes was pretty hard too. Some people claim Starship Hector is hard but it really wasn't on the level of 1943

This game with all the bonus worlds. The SNES version is 100 times easier
Valis IV for PCE was brutally difficult for me
Siren for the PS2, all archives collected

If you thought the SNES version was easy, just you wait until you see the GBC version.

Dracula's Curse is sickeningly hard, but I beat without save states a good few years ago.
I tried replaying it recently and I quit at stage 9, it's so fucking frustrating I don't understand how I did it back then.

I got 1. Just 1. On the first level. Said "Fuck this gay noise" and just noped out of the rest.
If memory serves, it's the devs/playtesters best times for those platinums.

Batman on the Nes.
Punchout (Mr Dream version)
Jurassic Park Genesis.
They are all the hair pulling games I remember.

Same.
Though I found only FF 3 hard. SMTs were relatively easy. Barring one dungeon.

Luckily I was a kid back then and found the Bahamut dungeon a good place to grind so the last 3 dungeons werent as grueling as they could be.

Retro hard game, not really sure. I'm not a big NES/SNES generation gamer.

I did beat Driver on PS1, 100% legit, and it was a hell of a rush. Great game, recommend it highly.

It's not a tutorial. It's the first mission.
If you want a "tutorial" you pick "training" from the main menu. There's a video there showing you what to do in the parking lot.
