Just by owning the consoles and games I've owned since the 80s and 90s I am already superior to 99% of so-called "retro gamers". I'm just a regular guy who never sold his stuff for weed.
Also, my taste is fairly curated and superior by default because I grew up during the golden age. Stopped paying attention to video games during the slop era (2000 onwards) and now I can select which games I play (for example, I never wasted time with nigsims, if I'm gonna play 6th gen, it's gonna be stuff like Devil May Cry or Ninja Gaiden, not GTa)

It's overall a good thing that emus exist, but let's not act like they are perfect, because they are objectively not. Bear in mind that "playable" can include audio bugs, game progress halting glitches, texture bugs, game speed inaccuracies, inaccurate hitbox issues, geometry clipping, etc. Real hardware must also be maintained, atleast for the foreseeable future, so that the intended experiences of these games can be preserved. In fact, real hardware is absolutely necessary to serve as a benchmark for improving the emulators, lest we all be stuck with inferior "remaster" type experiences and the intended experiences be lost forever. Anyone who has fucked with emulators for any length of time has encountered numerous issues. And yet, you reactionary contrarian weirdos never seem to encounter issues at all. Something doesn't add up.

I feel superior because my setup IS superior, but I also am a retard and I can't be bothered to do maintenance on my own setup, so I am in fact inferior.

I wired everything together to where my big CRT covers 9 consoles, my CRT monitor covers 4 computers AND can be switched to any of my 9 consoles for desktop play, and I have a big hi-fi system for listening to tapes, records, CDs, with video for VCR and DVD as well.

But this setup requires a lot of wiring and every now and then I have to rewire or move shit to add something else or to take a console into another room and my room is also a pigsty so I don't mess with the cables and I haven't been able to actually relax in my room for like 2 years because it's covered in dishes and mold.
