In the console version's story mode you move onto new homes as you complete simple objectives. You start out living with mom, move to a fixer upper, then move in with a roomie, then move in with a girlfriend, and after you get married you move onto a mansion and have kids.

Try Sims 1 or Bustin' Out on consoles. They're pretty much Sims 1 but in 3D and with a story mode.

You had to be there. Watching your Sims in SimCity 1 as little black dots in some buildings, small people in SimCity 3000 walking over the streets, and them finally getting inside their houses while they're taking a dump after drinking coffee was blasting. The first The Sims without expansion has the perfect atmosphere for the first player base - SimCity tards. With the first piece of shit expansion, we got fucked and replaced by women and faggots playing The Sims.

Don't play this retarded shit, play the console version instead, it has 3D graphics and a real story mode that plays like a tactical RPG. Come back to the gay PC version if you want to just do sandbox shit because the console version sucks for that. Furthermore, the holocaust never happened.

spend money to make money.
when you're just starting out, your sims will mostly be fucking miserable. you get them a job and realize your furniture is too cheap to keep them happy and energized enough to perform well. so you micromanage them to make sure all their needs are met halfway and save all their mcdonald's paychecks to upgrade their furniture, and suddenly they're happy enough to get promotions.
once you're across that hurdle it's more or less just a dollhouse. the way there is really stressful though, as sims have a tendency of making themselves more miserable or getting themselves killed if you don't micromanage them.

The Sims 1 was like a 90s sitcom such as Seinfeld and Married with Children. It had kino aesthetics and was relatively gender neutral. A game for everyone.

Then the Sims 2 came out and it was like Nickelodeonโ€™s Drake and Josh and very gay and teen-coded. Thatโ€™s when the franchise felt like a girlโ€™s game. Hell, half of the clothing options were like Abercrombie and Fitch with SANDALS with bootcut jeans.

>Original fanbase
People who grew up with SimCity. People who liked to push AI/scripts to the limits just to see what would happen. People who liked to critically think.

>Current fanbase for newer sequels
BPD-ridden girls, trannies, and pedos.
