What am i supposed to do when my CRT breaks?
it has component and im afraid ill never be able to find another one .

If the plastic breaks, build a wooden case. If a tube goes out, replace it. Most amplifier repair people will know what to do or could at least point you in the right direction.

I wish someone could invent a way to make these again. They are by far too expensive or too rare. It costs more to buy a CRT than a flat panel. I guess someone’s making money off of this but ordinary people aren’t putting up with it for much longer.

Not really a good comparison; no one is playing retro games on a pre-transistor, tube-powered television set. Tube amps still exist for electric instruments because of how they sound and react to the player, not because they're practical. TVs stopped using tubes (beyond the actual CRT obviously) as soon as was technically possible.

Yeah. Once CRTs die, I'll be sad that true authenticity is a thing of the past, but there will also be relief. Those things make cabs very awkward in their weight and will try to run you over if you're not ready and need to get one down some stairs. I do not recommend unless you're strong.

Oh I'm sure there are people literally doing so, but those sets would typically be black and white, RF only, and generally not relevant to a retro gaming discussion. It'd be like riding one of those victorian bicycles

If you’re in any modern metro area with a million people or more, you won’t find anything for free unless you steal it. This is where normal pricing takes effect and you see CRT units for $150+. Price is inversely correlated with size, so in many cases, a tabletop TV will cost more than a 50”+ LCD TV.

The chassis, not the outer case. I only know of this because someone with the same model put theirs on youtube. It's a Sampo 13" (I think) color "portable" TV. I know mine does it without opening the case because it gets quite warm on the telltale side.

It currently is unplugged just to be safe as I haven't used it in maybe two years.

Nta, but why? If the software mimics a CRT 1:1 (yes, I know that they're not there yet), then who cares? Basically the lone holdouts for fully retiring CRTs are light gun games and once that problem is solved, it's over. Having them for authenticity is preferred, but that isn't always available and it's going to increasingly become that way as time goes on.

If you "prefer raw pixels" you'd better prefer them on a CRT. If you like the way they look on an LCD you're retarded, see examples of why above.
If you are using an LCD then you need to use a good CRT filter that mimics real CRT effects. That doesn't mean "Scanlines 50%"
