>think about TPS
>well first off, Max Payne, second, uhh
>uhh
What other famous ones are there that hold up today, any platform? RE4 is more like overtheshouldervania

There's a lot, but I never liked most third person shooters. A lot of people like MDK. I don't. Why don't you just play some Max Payne and then talk about what you think of it instead?

Love a good TPS. Entry level ones like Max Payne and RE4 are alright but the genre has so many games to it. Gungage is sick, 10,000 bullets is based, and of course Headhunter PROVE to the world the Dreamcast could in fact handle GTA3. Who could forget Duke Time to Kill? All legends.

Kind of ironic all these games kind of fell into the "underrated / hidden gem" category, few really got big.

which ones?

How many games have rendered cut scenes like Max Payne?
Where every time you play the game the cut scenes are different because they're rendered by the game.

Other than Gungage those non "entry level" games suck. Jet Force Gemini shits all over Time to Kill.

jfg only became playable on the xbone, sadly the original is horrible. I'd rather play 25 to life or something instead.

Notice how most of the video is struggling against the controls at the very start of the game. You can tell n-Space were low tier developers.

PC ones:

Dark Forces: Jedi Knight - has a 3rd person mode, and for the Lightsaber combat it is recommended. If you're wanting to play it now, there are quite a lot of interesting mods too.

Heretic 2 - it is sort of more melee combat, but there are fantasy ranged weapons too (and this is not an FPS, even though Hexen, Hexen II and Heretic all are)

Outwars - You get to fly too

Tomb Raiders I-III, and then by extension Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine (which is more shooty than Tomb Raider)

Fifth Element - Though it doesn't hold up so well as I thought on a recent replay

Shadow Man

Fade to Black has been mentioned - probably one of the earlier examples of the genre.
