It wouldn't have been all that amazing and the relatively poor contrast would have made shit look mad muddy. Apparently it uses the same CPU as the PC-FX, just downclocked and with less RAM. Really I feel like the thing should have been pushing super scaler style games, could have sold the 3D aspect better. That said
>today I learned the V800 series CPU went on live as a low cost/low power general purpose CPU that's still in use today

I wish those unreleased early Famicom titles would resurface. Donkey Kong's Fun With Music, Bowling, the untitled space shooter, the untitled adventure game, I don't even care if they get publicly dumped or not, I just wanna know if they still exist.

None of those were on the master Famicom ROM list found in the gigaleaks, unfortunately.

That list DID give us names for other games that never released, like:
>"Famicom Mukashibanashi: Shin Onigashima" (Cartridge port of the FDS game, sorta like what happened to Zelda 1)
>"Heli-Fighter" (No data, my theory is that it's a conversion/sequel of "Heli-Fire", a pre-DK Nintendo arcade game)
>"Mario Bros. Classic" (Japanese NTSC version of PAL-exclusive release)
>"Parnuts" (No data, my speculation is that it was a Peanuts game since Nintendo had the license at the time)
>"Pazukkado" (No data, my hypothesis is that the title is meant to be "Bazooka", meaning that this was possibly a light gun game)
>"Sutte Hakkun" (Port of the also-unreleased Game Boy version of the SFC game)

Does the data mention any dates? Maybe those weren't listed because they probably were developed alongside the system. I can hope but I'm not holding my breath.

While I don't care about RE1.5 that much because the final RE2 is great and 1.5 looks like it was cancelled for good reasons, the N64 version of Zero is actually interesting because the final version is mediocre so the N64 version could have been better

I absolutely would have loved for Catroots to come out, or even for some actual gameplay to be shown. The circumstances surrounding it are so bizarre and eerie, and what we did see of the game looked really interesting.

It'd definitely have played better, all videos show that it plays exactly like RE2.
It was also more colourful.

I'm baffled at how long this game took to get made. How was it in dev for so long except because of incompetents holding their dicks in their hands?

Pretty sure this got released, I remember playing around with it 25 years ago, I still have the title music in my playlist.

Sonic X-treme also has like 10 different builds released, on PC, on Saturn, all the assets, even a level editor.

Seconding Kirby GCN.
On another note, Evolution: The World of Sacred Device was originally a Sega Saturn game, and while I expect the Saturn build to be close to the final, I am still curious. I think the dev diary also mentions an earlier battle system (it might've been real-time?), so I'm curious if there are any proof of concepts for that still exist.

Didn't Tronne get good reviews?

Also Legends 2 ended with Megaman trapped in space so initially playing as the girls trying to save him makes sense. I also assume they just wanted to show off the new character in the trailer, notice there was no gameplay of Roll either. There is no way you would not have played as Megaman in it. This was intended to be practically a pre-alpha prototype to ask for feedback for the full game anyway.

Terrible games can sell like crazy and amazing games can sell like shit, sales don't relate to quality of the game. I said that the game got good reviews.

Apparently it wasn't a straightforward racing game but had animal raising elements and would have you switching mounts mid-race. No gameplay footage has ever surfaced unfortunately but there is leaked footage of the game on Xbox after it was reworked into Sabreman Stampede, which they honestly should've just finished up and released. Microsoft really had no idea of how to manage Rareware, complete waste of a talented studio.

I got to play this with all 16 players.

There is a retro convention near me and one of the booths had 16 gameboys all hooked together through wizardry.

I played a few rounds, it was really technically impressive. Though gameplay wise it was a really simplified doom styled shooter.

Nobody is mad but those who insist that RE1.5 was some kind of classic that we missed out on. Same thing kinda happened to a lesser extent with RE4 and its prototype version but RE4 was simply too good to ever claim the alternative would've been better.

The best way to anger an RE1.5 idiot is to simply talk about how much you like RE2 and the design of that game.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Shigeru Miyamoto himself the director for this one?
If so, I wonder if this game's cancellation is the reason he never directed a (released) game after SM64...

On an unrelated note; do you think this game would've released westward had it come out, or would it have joined the ranks of Joy Mech Fight and Murasame Castle as a "cool Nintendo game that never left Japan"?

Nah, I am following RE1.5 since 1997, I've been on Bioflames forums for many years. And I have barely seen anyone who thinks that 1.5 was better. People mostly like some aspects of 1.5, like hand grenades and body armor. Anyone who says that they wish 1.5 was released instead of the final 2 is the minority. Most people want the most complete, near final 1.5 build to be made available to the public and that's it.

There is a certain type of retards who are angry at Capcom for saying that "1.5 was cancelled because it was too much like 1" though. Like who the fuck cares if it's true or not.

What do you think this game would have even played like?

I personally have two theories:
>Power Stone knockoff with Tom & Jerry expies
>All-ages survival horror game where you play as a scared cat trying to get away from a sadistic mouse. Think RE3 but kid friendly.

Yes, it was being developed by the Super Mario 64 team.
And good question... Kimba is famous with boomers (literal ones), but who knows what Nintendo would have done with it.

I wonder if the untitled adventure game was Super Mario Bros. Would that make sense, timeline wise?
Anonymous No.12001821 [Report]
>>12001797
I believe the flyer that mentions it was from late 1983, early 1984 at the latest. IIRC Super Mario Bros started development in mid to late 1984. I wouldn't be surprised if the project morphed into it though because from my understanding, Mario wasn't supposed to be in the game very early on. Zelda shouldn't be off the table either because it apparently was farther along than SMB development wise.
