the "boss fight" against le chuck in MI2 always creeped me out as a kid
also what was the town in terranigma called, where u spend a night in a dingy hotel and when you wake up, everyone has turned into a zombie?
Shadows dream in ff6 >Be 12 >Playing all night until 3am >Half conscious >Already generally creeped out by world of ruin >Welp time to stay at the inn like ive done so many times before with nothing odd happening whatsoever >Weird haunting bass sounds start playing over a blank screen >Weird ass cutscene >Lay completely motionless for 3 minutes
That shit had me messed up for days

the game was already pretty scary by itself, I remember how hearing doors opening and closing somewhere in the distance left me very anxious. the feeling of being stalked in 3d was insane at the time
but then you come to these levels. walls covered in slime, zombies silently stalking you. it was too much for me, never went past the first level, I don't think

In the unlikely event that they ever bring back this fucker, they should merge the JP and NA designs together. Use the former, more neutral expression for when it's inactive, and the latter with the demented grin for when someone triggers it.

If there's horror in it then that makes it a horror game. There is no technical specification of how much horror needs to be in for it to be horror, furthermore what is horrifying to some is not to others. Hope that helps!

When I was a boy, I thought the yeti represented the cold inevitability of death.
I was 33 years old when I learned that you can just... press the F key.

i think it was a Wizardry game? where the ghost of a previous hero is slowly but surely tracking you down the whole game and if they catch you you just die

I just tested this, it looks like you CAN hit F to go faster and get away from the first monster, but then suddenly another one will come from the side and eat you. It's probably possible to get away if you're good enough.

He's the burglar. He'll enter your house and steal your expensive stuff. You must put burglar alarms around your doors to prevent him entering your house.

For me, it was Hazy Maze Cave. There was something deeply unsettling about how you jumped into a pool of some unknown black liquid and got taken to a dark underground cave that seemed endless compared to the other levels.
