The creator has mentioned two more releases incoming, one of them appears to be Gargoyle's Quest, and I'm hoping that the last will be Legend III.

I feel like having the battle backgrounds be white is a mistake and can be visually off-putting. The original battle backgrounds were "white" technically but in actuality they were the color of the gameboy screen and they matched the rest of the game. Going from a dark cave to a white battle might be annoying, can anyone who tried these attest?

Dmg using a global 4 color palette allowed background tile overlay to blend better, but then the GBC had no real background color like the NES, but 8 palettes for backgrounds of 4 colors, unfortunately developers always choose the most gaudy of colors and white background color as well as white skins.

Yes, I would say the majority of people refer to it that way. No one says the Game Boy's graphics are black and green, only serious autists make that kind of correction. Most people would describe the Game Boy's graphics as black and white because most people don't use the term "monochrome" and also don't care enough to be more specific.

That's precisely the problem with recolours hacks.

When they were a new thing we got a couple of actually great ones and since then everybody thought they could do it too but does a terrible job at it and then other people are thinking "I can do it better than this terrible job!" and only does a slightly less terrible job.

I'm sorry to break it to you but picking colours that are fitting and that everyone likes isn't that simple. Even less so if you want to make it look like how devs would have done it back then.

I mean when you look at some of the "CRT filters" people use for gaming and post on this board you can tell a lot of people have shit in their eyes.
