What's the best way to get into Fire Emblem? What game should I start with (translations are fine)?

Retro FE has four series

FE1/3-2 (NES/Early SNES era)
FE4-5 (Jugdral Series)
FE6-8 (GBA era)
FE9-10 (Tellius Series)

Start with either FE3, FE4, FE6, or FE9.

Blazing Blade (just called "Fire Emblem") on GBA was literally made to be the game for beginners, but you'll have to endure the inane, Dora the Explorer-esque tutorial on your first run.
