I give it a 6.5/10 maybe a 7/10 I got filtered by the time limit and lost interest. Some of the stages are like 10 minutes long so I did not want to have to memorize it to optimize my path and replay it like 10 times to get through. I have picked it up a few times and gotten further than I did previously but I never finished it and eventually sold the game. I liked the idea a lot but would have liked an extra minute to the timer. Maybe 30 seconds on some stages.

Katamari Damacy was the last original idea for a video game and for that I love it, the sequel is even better

I agree, and I said something similar in OP’s previous thread, the game is way more fun during the early stages when the levels are shorter and smaller. Once they get to 10+ fucking 20 minutes, it gets ridiculous, the concept felt better for shorter bursts.

I can't really find anything new since Katamari. Indie games just haven't been as creative or inventive

I’m sorry bro I just got bored. If I remember right there are areas you need to backtrack too once your katamari is the correct size, and there is an order you need to do things in, in some stages, in order to make progress. I just didn’t want to memorize it like I said. Sometimes the only way to know where an object is of a certain size is to have already gone there before and remembered, or by luck. I don’t like that in games especially when it’s timed. There are many stages where you can’t pick anything up constantly and you need to make a mental note of where to come back to. I like the game I would try a new one if they made a modern release. I just wish the stages relied less on previous plays because it’s impossible to beat many stages your first try or two.

I think you're misremembering its difficulty. Yes some stages require a little backtracking but it's not some monumental task. The only truly frustrating parts are where you're stuck in a corner, there's shit in the way and you can't see what you're doing. I can't remember if the remaster fixes the camera vision, it's been a couple years since I played it.

Man, what the fuck? I don’t understand, at all.
If that’s really your only problem with the game, the re-release added significant extra time to every stage, which is actually why I don’t like it.

I beat 1/2 recently and theyre two of the best games ever made. Unmitigated FUN with no bullshit timewasting (except for that fucking cowbear level)

I haven’t, no. The first remaster was kind of shoddy on top of the time increase and some weird music quirk I don’t remember the details of, so I didn’t even finish it and ended up just doing a full playthrough of my physical copy instead, so I haven’t bothered to look into the second one.

I refunded the Damacy and We <3 Katamari remasters after learning that the cutscenes and the fans lost all their English voice acting.

That's like half the charm of the game for me...

Girls who have never touched a video game in their lives can beat katamari damacy in a couple of sittings. It's definitely a you problem. And if this game were any easier, it would be boring.

Like half of the gameplay of Katamari Damacy is seen through a transparent black window. The king talks sooooooo much and you can't make it go faster. WLK fixed this thankfully.

I haven't stopped to think about this, but you are right. You could make a modern AAA game into a movie/show (as seen by shit like the last of us), but it'd just be impossible to do for something like katamari. I mean you *could*, but the entire appeal would be lost.
We love katamari is probably in my top 50ish games, but the series is more unique than most anything else ever made.
